artist artist Vacaville, California Artist Biography "For as long as I can remember I have been creating artwork. When I was 7 I announced in class that my only career goal was to become an artist and this has held true my entire life. As a young adult I earned my living as a graphic artist and while raising my family continued creating design work every chance I had. I began painting for the first time in 1990, using acrylics and finding inspiration from my family and surroundings. Moving to Northern California in 1998 intensified my creative vision. Inspired by the richness of local history and the verve of the people who wish to preserve what constitutes ‘landscape’, my work evolved where land is a constant underlying theme. Mentoring by professors at Solano College Fine Art Department, a loving family and supportive friends have been invaluable and I wouldn’t be creating the art that I do without them” AWARDS Great California Paintout 2013, John Natsoulas Center for the Arts, Davis 2013 Jurors Award FVAA Juried Show 2007 Honorable Mention Vacaville Art League Juried Show 2006 Award of Merit California State Fair 2005 Award of Recognition, Vaca Arts Council’s Salute to the Stars 2005 Award of Merit, juried by Greg Kondos and People’s Choice Award for “Cantelow Road”, Vacaville Art League Juried Show 2003 AFFILIATIONS City of Vacaville Arts Advisory Committee Member 2006-present City of Vacaville Arts Advisory Committee Chair  2010-2012, 2015-2016 Juror for Fine Arts Competition, Solano County Fair 2007 - 2011 - 2012 - 2014 President, Vacaville Art League 2005-2007 Event Chair, Saturday in the Park, 2004-2007 Cantelow Road acrylic on panel 24”x48”               artist artist ALL IMAGES ON THIS WEBSITE PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT LAWS.        ALL RIGHTS RESERVED COPYRIGHT 2018 JUDY NEAL.
